Camping Overnight!
Saturday
July 31st at Lions Park, only $5.00 per tent!
Pack up the tents and
bring your family to Lions Park for a fun camping overnight!
We'll have a camp fire with hot dogs and s'mores. Tent setup
will be from 4 pm to 7 pm with activities starting at 7pm.
Candy bar bingo (participants bring a candy bar to play:
winners get to choose their candy bar prize) will begin at
7:30 pm. Night hike, with glow sticks, starts at 9:30pm.
Breakfast will be provided from 8-10am. For more details

Illinois' Friendliest Paddle and Race
The
Lena Community Park District and Friends of the Pecatonica River Foundation
offer IPC Sanctioned Canoe & Kayak Races on Sunday, July 18, 2010 at McConnell's
"Bobtown" Landing (MBL). MBL entry port for Illinois' Friendliest Paddle will
be the location for our 13.74 mile and 6 mile race. For more information and to

of Recreation.

Ladies Hiking!
Ladies,
come out and play! Fun isn't just for the kids this
year!
The Ladies
Hiking Group meets at 8 AM every Wed. morning. We do not
hike if the weather is bad or it thunder storms are
threatening. Call 815-369-4334 to check! We
have been hiking in the southwest half of the park, learning
to read the map and orient ourselves with a compass.
Also when we get out on the trails, the hikers look at
different options and plan which is the fastest way back to
our cars. Meet at the west playground parking at
Lake Le-Aqua-Na State Park.

Shelter House Reservations
The Lena Community
Park District begins taking walk-in reservations for the shelter houses located
at the Lions, Dodds and Pohill Parks on Saturday, January 16, 2010 from 8-10
a.m. at the park district office located at 609 N. Schuyler St.
Reservation fee: $35.00
